Growing Grounds Farm is a non-profit wholesale nursery and farm. Since 1984 we have been providing employment, vocational training, and socialization opportunities to adults with mental illness. We offer California Native plants, Ferns, Herbs, Bearded Iris, Mediterranean perennials, and Succulents, as well as Restoration and Mitigation plants.
At Growing Grounds Farm, we believe that both giving and receiving care are important parts of the recovery process. Even caring for a plant can be helpful for someone who has not had the opportunity to nurture something. Our employees become attached to the plants they have grown, and take personal pride when they are sold. Sometimes this is our employee's first chance to take care of something.
We strive to grow a variety of unusual and usual natives and perennials. All plants are grown with love and care. Coming soon on this site are descriptions of the plants as well as some ideas on how to combine them in landscaping.
